What happens at your appointment
Allow 45 minutes to an hour. Please arrive 10 minutes early to complete your file and POPI consent form.
1. Your history
We start with a detailed conversation about your hearing, your health and the situations where you struggle to hear.
2. Ear examination
We look inside your ears and show you the view on a screen, to check that everything looks healthy.
3. Middle ear test
A quick test of middle ear pressure, eardrum movement and ear canal volume, which can show a blockage or signs of infection.
4. Hearing test
Wearing earphones, you respond to the softest beeps you can hear. We also measure the softest speech you can detect, to confirm the results.
5. Inner ear test, if needed
Where it is useful, we also test how well the hair cells in your inner ear (cochlea) are working.
Cost and medical aid
A full hearing test costs from R910, depending on which tests are needed and how long the appointment takes.
We are contracted to most medical aids that are part of the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF), including Discovery, Bonitas and HearConnect. Medical aid rates may differ from the private fee above.
Who it’s for
Adults and children of all ages, including newborn hearing screening.
You don’t need a referral from a GP or specialist. If you’ve noticed changes in your hearing, or simply want a check, you can book directly.
After your test
We explain your results in plain language and talk you through your options.
If you have a hearing loss that hearing aids can help, we explain the choices and prices, and most models can be trialled. If something needs medical attention, we refer you to the right professional, such as an ENT surgeon.

We bring our equipment to you: hearing tests, hearing aid fittings and follow-up care, at your home, a retirement facility or any quiet place that suits you.
We travel across the Western Cape, including the West Coast and Garden Route.
Travel fees may apply based on standard AA rates.
